Cardi B just took to Instagram to call out someone who’s trying to scam people out of money by using her name.
Someone sent her an email they received that asked people to donate money for autism research, but the email was full of typos and punctuation errors and looked super not-real. They wrote that they were trying to raise a cool $ 30 million.
“Thanks @iamdeadeye59 for putting me on !” Cardi wrote. “THIS SHIT IS FAKE ! FAKE DONATION SHIT! Ya wild disgusting taking advantage of real kind people who wanna make a change but ya scamming! If it don’t come from my mouth don’t believe it !😤😤😤😤😤😤”
People in the comments were, unsurprisingly, appalled that someone would use charity work to scam people out of money. “Wow, that’s horrible people act this way and take advantage! 😡” one person wrote. “Damn I was about to comment, my son has autism so something like this would be great for all families who experience, thanks for exposing the fraud. People are so ridiculous,” another wrote. And someone with jokes wrote “#fyrefestival.”
Lesson learned: if you try to be a jerk using Cardi’s name, you’re not getting away with it.
